How to Become a Security Guard in South Australia

  1. Age: You must be 18yo or older to be a candidate for a South Australia security license.

  2. Criminal Record: You cannot have an Australian criminal record of any kind.

  3. Passport Photo: You need to submit passport photos in your SA application.

  4. Australian Citizen: You need to be an Australian citizen or be legally allowed to work in South Australia. You will have to submit a copy of federal or SA government ID in the security license application.

  5. English: You must be able to speak and write in English.

  6. SA Approved Security License Course: You need to take a South Australia approved security licensing course called Certificate 2 in Security Operations.

  7. Application: You can apply for a South Australia guard license via online portal.
